The hike lasts between 4 and 5 hours total. The first hour is the most demanding. After approximately 3 hours, we'll stop for lunch (about 20 minutes), then continue on a semi-flat trail for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

We arrive at base camp around 2:30 PM. From there, we rest for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes before beginning the optional Fuego volcano hike.

Fuego Volcano Hike

The hike to Fuego volcano lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes round trip (about 45 minutes down and 45 minutes up). At the summit of Fuego volcano, we wait between 45 minutes and 1 hour to witness the beauty of nature and, with luck, see the glow of lava at night.
